“Into the Storm” marks the beginning of my compositional career at the University of Michigan. While many of the artistic choices I made in this piece were created with little to no personal motivation at the time of writing them, I now feel this is a fitting work emblematic of my experiences transitioning to college life: a balance of excitement, tension, and even meditativeness.
